DOJ to investigate all law firms on election cases (cited the dossier again), immigration pro bono practices, their lawsuits against the US government in the past 8 years

The Attorney General and the Secretary of Homeland Security will conduct an investigation into all law firms involved in election-related cases, as well as their pro bono immigration practices and lawsuits against the US government over the past eight years. For more information, you can refer to the official announcement here: White House Presidential Actions, March 2025.

Thank you, Brad Karp—now everyone knows that all firms can give in.

Apologies for the confusion in the title; this effort is led by the Attorney General and the Secretary of Homeland Security, and it’s not just law firms being examined, but their partners as well.

  1. It seems like you’re pointing out an important clarification regarding the investigation led by the Attorney General and the Secretary of Homeland Security, rather than the DOJ as a whole. The focus on law firms and their partners that have engaged in election-related cases and immigration pro bono practices certainly raises significant questions about legal ethics and the balance between advocacy and accountability. It’s essential to ensure that legal practices align with constitutional processes, but this also opens up a broader discussion about the implications for the legal profession and the potential chilling effect on pro bono work. Thanks for sharing the link and starting this conversation!
