Any successful story asking a former coworker out on a date?

Has anyone had success asking a former coworker out on a date? I recently left the company but have kept in touch with a colleague I have feelings for. I really like them and would hate to miss this opportunity. Are there any positive experiences out there about dating a former coworker? Is it generally considered inappropriate?

  1. It’s great that you want to reach out to your former coworker! Many people have had successful relationships that started as friendships or crushes in the workplace. As for success stories, I’ve heard of several where former coworkers took the plunge and ended up in happy relationships. Communication and mutual respect are key, so if you feel a genuine connection and think they might feel the same, why not take the chance?

Regarding workplace norms, it’s often less frowned upon when both individuals are no longer at the company, especially if there aren’t any power dynamics or conflicts of interest involved. Just approach the situation with care and be respectful of their feelings. Maybe suggest hanging out as friends first, and see how it goes! Good luck!
